Disposal by Item
| Item | Where it goes |
|---|---|
| Needles and syringes | Rigid, puncture-proof sharps container |
| Empty or used glass vials | Sharps or glass waste container per lab rules |
| Leftover peptide solution | Chemical or clinical waste stream, as your lab directs |
| Used pens | Clinical waste (they hold residual solution); any detachable needles go in the sharps container |
| Empty nasal spray bottles | Clinical or chemical waste with residue |
| Gloves, swabs, tips | Clinical waste bag |
| Outer packaging, gel packs | General waste or reuse |
Never in Household Waste
Needles, used vials and solutions should never go into household bins or down the drain. They can injure waste workers and contaminate water.
In a Lab or Institution
Universities, hospitals and companies in the UAE contract licensed medical-waste collectors. Follow your institution’s waste procedures and label containers correctly. See our campus delivery guide.
Sharps Containers
Use a container designed for sharps, fill it no more than three-quarters, close it securely and hand it to your institution’s waste service.
Gel Packs and Pouches
The insulated pouch and gel packs from SHLabz cold-chain deliveries are not hazardous. Reuse them for transporting samples between sites, or dispose of them as general waste. See transporting peptides.
The Short Version
Sharps go in a sharps container; vials, pens, sprays and solutions go into your lab’s clinical or chemical waste stream; packaging and gel packs are general waste. Nothing goes down the drain.
